I love time but never this long

Last night Dub was down in the den (we had to move his crate out of my room) and he started crying. Not the whole hearted howling some of you that have been to my house have heard. Just a sad little puppy in a big room by himself. I could hear him through the vents. I have been sleeping on the futon in my bedroom because it makes my back oh so happy so I jerked it out and went to get my puppy. He toddled upstairs and was all OMG HI REMEMBER ME!? We went and sat in the office for a while till he calmed down. I let him snooze about 15 minutes then walked out of the room and into my bedroom where he followed me. I laid down and got all snuggled and he was like…umm? I patted the bed and he jumped up and was like “Whoa…” He snuggled up next to me and went right to sleep. I…was baffled. Normally when I am in any horizontal position he tries to bite my hair and jump on my back and be a little annoyance in general.

I use the word “little” loosely. He is 85 pounds of muscle and teeth with a very young mind. He’s smart…he’s just…a baby. That makes it difficult not to strangle him sometimes. I have to remember that he’s just a puppy. It’s becoming my mantra lately. So he stays…for now.

If he does stay, forever ever, I’m going to insist on a 4 foot high black aluminum fence for the back yard. We also won’t be installing hardwood flooring, but tile instead. Ideally, I want to find a home for him. People with kids and a nice big yard with a fence and all kinds of other good things.

I want some rice. I think that is what I’ll have for lunch today…

Mmmm. Ok so we went to the Legion last night and had a pretty good time and we got to hang out with some friends that we haven’t seen in a while. They have a decent grill in there and rad french fries so I was a rather happy Bug.

We also went to test drive The Car yesterday. The dealer went ahead and got it in for me. I was terrified of two things when we pulled up to the lot and saw it. 1. That I was going to fall horribly in love, and 2. That I was going to be too short to drive it. I have bad news…

I have so much work to do, it’s not even funny, but while I’m waiting on a NAV update to run I’ll fling my boring life in 1s and 0s to the universe at large.

About a week ago I decided to sell my car. I thought it was dying (turns out the car is fine and just needed it’s fuses reseated) and I started vehemently looking for a new ride. I have decided on a 2005 Hyundai Tiburon. It’s a sexy little car but dealerships are ROYAL prats. I want the GT, V6, Automatic, Stitched seat inserts, 360 Watt Stereo (sub!), ABS, Black on Black, no sunroof if at all possible.

Apparently, I have asked for the most IMPOSSIBLE combination of parts because all the dealers go “Uhhhhh…” and their eyes glaze over and I can visualize the drool pooling at the corner of their lips. I was pretty adamant about the no sunroof but seeing as how I am not willing to budge on the stereo and it’s part of some lame package, I will probably deal with it. I’m talking to FIVE dealers…the farthest away one is 115 miles. Have I mentioned I really want a new car?

The problem with my Bug is this. To get your money out of a used car you must either 1. pay cash for it, 2. find an awesome deal and be able to pay it off in a hurry, or 3. Pay on it for 5 years and then when things start breaking you fix them out of your pocket.

This is not a good situation because by the time you have it paid off…the car isn’t worth shit or you have pumped so much money into it you are ready to push it off of a cliff. The time is coming in the Beetle’s life when it’s going to start needing maintenance. I have another few years to pay on it. I’m really not ready for that kind of…hassle. I want a new car with a warranty that is going to have some value after I pay it off. There isn’t anything wrong with my car(paint is good, body is good, mechanicals are good, electricals are good) and some people have asked me why not just keep it. So there is my reasoning.

Every used car is a gamble; You have to know when to fold and collect your winnings.

i have turned crying as quietly as i dare into an art form
waking from dreams upturned by reality
fist filled potential; promise me
that this will all be over soon
i don’t know who to believe
little me or little you
somewhere along the way i lost me
somewhere along the way
i’m still along the way and looking
for little bread crumbs of who i am
who do i need to be today?
crumpled there like bits of wrath and ash
this memory along the path
praying and hoping for my one wish
that it might come true and i might find
that one thing that i cannot define
and if you were looking for what you lost too
you should have been more careful
who knew i was following you
