September
September is always such an expensive month. First…there is my birthday on the 1st. I always take that opportunity to spoil myself a wee bit. This year I bought a DS, an M3i zero, an 8gb micro SD card, a 2gb micro SD card, and EA’s Active for the Wii. I also got myself a set of company cotton flannel sheets and an organic woven blanket. Oh and I renewed my tags for the car. I also went to the dentist for the first time since I’ve had my braces off. I expected the worst but I received thumbs up all the way around. Unf. Many dollars.
I *did not* buy an iPod touch like I had planned. I psyched myself up over getting one all summer. Device convergence. It’ll help with Gadgethab 2009. Well then Apple decided to not put a camera on the damnable thing so I’d still have to carry my point and shoot. My iPod Video 80gb is working wonderfully well so there is absolutely no reason for me to upgrade. I’d just spend a fortune on apps, so maybe it’s for the best.
I’m crazy happy with the DS and all the homebrew goodness. It’s really been quite fun. I can chat on IRC with it it, browse, tweet, play games, read manga, listen to music, stay organized, and will probably do a whole lot more with it in the future.
EA’s Active is kicking my butt. The battery in my scale has died so I have no idea if i’ve lost any weight but my stamina is improving (i thought i was going to have a heart attack the first few days).
So yeah. I bought myself stuff. Then there’s my regular money flying out the door for bills, food, and stuff.
Finally, there’s Hugo’s birthday on the 30th. So far I’ve gotten him practical things. (We’re more of a birthmonth kind of family) Robes. Jersey knit shorts. New sheets for him (king size, different color, but otherwise just like mine [having a king size bed is retarded expensive. I don't recommend it.]). I’ve still got a few things that I want to get him. I can’t decide if I should go ahead or wait for the winter holiday. I suck at waiting to give gifts.
Our rice cooker died (which made me very sad) so Hugo bought us a new Zojirushi 6 cup cooker/steamer. I love it. He also bought me 1000 pair of plastic gloves since I’m turning into Howard Hughes and can’t stand to touch anything with my bare hands. It has made life much more pleasant. Yes, I am off all medication. Why do you ask?
Skip ahead a few hours to now….
We just got in from changing the oil in a few of the fleet. I have new spark plugs and am in serious need of a fresh air filter so I can recharge the K&N. It is very gross looking. No wonder the car hasn’t been her usually perky self. That combined with the tire and brakes we put on it a while back…the car should be good for a while.
Anyway…i don’t know how to end this other than to say…i’m fskin tired and gonna go now.
