oh hai i has bukkit

Last week flew by. It was really quite fantastic on one hand and a big bunch of crap on the other.

I made the appointment to have my hair dyed. I’m so excited/nervous, but hey, it’s just hair. After I made that appointment I had to do something else. Had to or I was going to lose my nerve for the whole deal. I did what any sane person would do, I called Grim and drove to Knoxville.

I went and had my nose pierced. Heh. Ow. Yay! Having it done hurt worse than I expected and the aftermath is way more comfortable than I expected which is the more pleasant way to do things. Paying a stranger to stab you in the face is a very fun thing to decide to do on a Friday afternoon. I recommend everyone give it a whirl.

Hugo was all “Eh.” but he didn’t freak out…customers and what not…have to be careful. I figured if he was going to let me get my hair dyed this color, that a little nose stud wasn’t going to keep anyone awake at night or cause any heart attacks.

I’m going to have to find a new theme and a new portable music player…or a new battery for the one I have already. Dammit. Sorry. It just died after having charged. Bah.

Anyway, I have decided I don’t like sidebars. I’m going to have to think of something…and I will probably have to hack apart someone else’s theme to get where I need to go.

I had a slight nervous breakdown yesterday over some javascript bullshit I was unable to fix. Srsly. Why everything so damn hard? Boo. Screw your useless docs and shove that readme.

Which got me thinking I should take a class…which made me realize, “Gosh, I’d really love to have a degree.” *Sigh* So I am going to apply at Pellissippi yet again and probably go ultra part time … see what I can test out of.

I revisit a lot of the same topics over and over again, so sorry if i’m boring you.

I had a really awful dream about someone the other night and I woke up hurt and angry. Usually my dreams scare me or I wake myself up laughing/crying. This time I wanted to literally kill this person…in my dream. I wanted to really hurt them. I didn’t. I woke myself up and sat with my unresolved feelings festering in my chest.

Meh. I’ve got to do a bunch of cleaning/straightening today. I’ve gotten maybe 40% of our household notebook put together. I’ve got to get on the month tabs and finish several projects I have sitting by the wayside.

A 48 hour day would really help me out.

Friday Thirteen - Eighth Edition

In which I rock out some awesome…
Thirteen Things That Make This Friday Fantastic

  1. 7:06 is actually 6:66 and doing anything during this time should be avoided at all costs.
  2. ♥♥♥
  3. my jeans fit great today.
  4. the weather outside is amazing and the trees are mostly better
  5. i’m going to the maryville farmer’s market tomorrow for the first time
  6. coco is fine. i thought she was hurt really badly, but no
  7. my ipod isn’t dead, my USB cable just went bad on me
  8. i am inexplicably unable to stop listening to the smiths
  9. my web design book is fantastic. i can’t wait to read it cover to cover.
  10. i have had to break up my reading into sections of the house because I have 10 books i am in various stages of. novels in bed. code/design books at the desk. cookbooks at the kitchen table. magazines in the bathroom. sounds silly but it is actually working. progress is being made! more books can be bought!
  11. http://icanhascheezburger.com/
  12. the two novels i am reading are: Lolita & And The Ass Saw The Angel by Nick Cave. they are both very distinctively stylized. Again, I am only reading them in bed when I can, but wow to them both.
  13. Better living through chemistry: Melatonin, Salada, Valerian, Ginko, & Wild Bunch

What is this? I admittedly ripped this idea off from the thursday thirteen. why? cause i think friday thirteen sounds a whole lot cooler than thursday.

You know what? This Blaqkaudio track is goddamn fantastic. I’m a pretty big fan of electronic music. Dance. Industrial. Trance. SynthPop. Whatever. It’s my scene, you could say, if i had one.

I’m rather excited for this album. Grim’s eyes might roll right out of his head, but I think it will be rather delightful. By delightful I mean grab you by your jacobs and rip your heart out on the dancefloor.

Let the moshnmope commence.

*lights a clove*

anyway, i found a Digital Scrapbooking magazine at Kroger yesterday. I was amazed in that they decided to call what i have been doing for years digital scrapbooking. Another hobby with a proper name instead of “that one thing i do to waste hours and hours.” that file folder is getting rather plump.

the magazine is pictures of people’s brats mostly, layered with brushes and patterns and scans of lace and ribbon. very betty crocker meets deviant art. my portfolio is filled with buttcracks, rust, circus freaks, and midgets flipping the bird.

i like to think it sets me apart. i’m thinking of submitting some of my pieces. heh.

i’ve been so fucking productive lately i feel kinda weird. I’ve gotten ALL and i do mean ALL the laundry done. I make the beds every morning. I get up when i wake up (which can be as early as 4:30am) and workout. I am focused. I make dinner every night. I work consistently and efficiently. I am good at solving problems easily.

i had a friday thirteen prepared last week 2 days ahead of time…because i have been THAT productive and mindful. until friday when i forgot to actually put it up. way to show off.

In short, i’ve felt like someone else this past week; me. i’m rather taken with me. i hope i stick around.

Last night i learned the power of cornstarch in asian (and well, any) cooking. I need some dark sesame oil, rice vinegar, and some pure non GMO soy oil. i am smitten with stirfry at the moment. i wish i had a wok. fried rice!!!!

i’m going back to work now.

how apropos, rob.

freewill.gifVIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22): It’s time to take down the “Under Construction” signs and clean up the messes from your works in progress. At least for now, your heart has lost its drive for further renovation and rehabilitation. Whether you think you’re ready or not, then, it’s time for a grand re-opening. I suggest you offer free toasters or other incentives to pull in new clients, as well as to coax disaffected old ones into returning.
It may also help to put up an “Under New Management” sign.

so is that the shut up and get started call to arms that i think it might be? i’ve been reading food, not lawns, have been taking a shit load of pictures, experimenting with candle scents, and recently learned how to knit poorly (working on doing it well!). i’ve had my eye on a sewing machine and my bookmarks folder is full of bookmarks. this is interesting because i never keep bookmarks and now i have a metric assload. Cross-stitch patterns, fabrics, yarn, melt and pour soap bases, photography, candle scents, knitting needles, css hacks, organic fertilizer, orchids, rainbow brite costumes………

i believe i will cool it a little with adding things for myself to do and enjoy what i’ve got going on already. perhaps i’ll get around to making my bed every day.

i think tonight is a good night for lentil stew seeing as how it snowed. nothing goes well with cold like hot things in a bowl.
