Since this is the thirteenth edition of my Friday Thirteen, I have decided to make it about something very near and dear to my heart (especially right this second).

Thirteen Things I Love About Fall

1. The Light : When the earth is changing seasons in the sunlight does fabulous things and makes for some precious eyecandy. I am very excited to take pictures this fall with the new camera.
2. Cloves : Things start being made with spicy spices like cinnamon and nutmeg and cloves. That said, fall is the perfect time of year for smoking.
3. Trees : The mountains turn the most gorgeous colors and add the fabulous light from the sun and you have yourself a stunning vista.
4. Bonfires : The smell of woodsmoke fills the air as people are burning their leaves and cranking up fireplaces. One of my favorite things to do is to have a fire in the back yard and hang out around it after dark. Having a special someone and a steamy hot mug of something special is always a bonus.
5. Hoodies : Hoodies! What more can I say about delightful fall outerwear?? Except maybe…
6. Scarves (!!) : I am going to learn to make a scarf that looks like something other than total crap if it takes me all season.
7. Mums : People decorate their porches and homes with mums, corn stalks, gourds, and bales of hay. Something about everyone doing that feels good…sort of like the lights in December.
8. Cider : All sorts of varieties are readily available during Fall. This year, I am determined to find fresh and homemade cider. Homemade as in, this individual grew some apples, harvested, boiled down the apples, made cider, and poured it into a glass for me.
9. Halloween : Free candy from strangers. Costumes. Ritual. Hot damn.
10. Pumpkins : All sorts of pumpkin flavored goodies pop up. Some are good, some are extremely vile.
11. Jack-o-lanterns : Agricultural crafting delight! I say every year I’m going to do X, Y, or Z for a pumpkin, but it hasn’t happened yet. I’m holding out hope for 2007.
12. Crisp Temps : It gets a little chilly at night but during the day the sun is out and everything is perfect.
13. Air : The atmosphere is breezy but still at the same time. The wind rarely whips up and when it rains, it comes straight down.

What is this? I admittedly ripped this idea off from the thursday thirteen. why? cause i think friday thirteen sounds a whole lot cooler than thursday.
