HEAL
he said change the channel
i’ve got problems of my own
i’m so sick of hearing about drugs
and aids
and people without homes
and i said, well,
i’d like to sympathize with that
but if you don’t understand
then how can you act
a few days ago Becca posted about the gender based violence happening in Africa. It is, honestly, one of the most apalling things happening in our world today. [edit: i wrote some really graphic things here about what is going on, but really, it didn’t do these survivors justice. if you go and watch the videos they are in pain and they are humiliated, yet…they are picking themselves up. it’s beautiful.] So I donated some money and I’d like to encourage anyone who can donate anything anytime they can to whatever should do so if they are compelled.
in this world, it seems, your dollar is your vote. make it count.
Thanksgiving was good. I woke up this morning (3am) with an uncomfortable dehydration migraine that didn’t want to go away, so I watched old x-files reruns until about 6ish. my headaches get worse in the winter because i forget to drink even the tiniest amount of liquid all day. it’s really bad. i’m not drinking that much alcohol anymore because I am frankly too tired to do so at the end of the day, so no, it definitely wasn’t a hangover.
tomorrow is the last day of my first month on the nuvaring. i’ve really enjoyed not having to take a pill every single day. tentatively i am leaning towards it being a success. my final verdict will be a negative pregnancy test next friday. it can stop your bleeding so my NP said to take a test just to make sure for maybe the first month or two. wahoo!
i have another book to read now so i’m going to go do that for a few hours until my eyes give out. Goodnight, internet.
