I left here at 3:58PM EST to visit the Post Office, get a Tall Chai Latte (soy) and a 6″ Veggie Sub (no cheese, oil and vinegar). I left because I was tired of waiting on this software to finish uploading to the server.

I am much more useful (read, pleasant) when driving around and drinking/eating over-priced food stuffs than I am sitting on my butt watching an FTP client tick away while I refresh my feeds about 40 times a minute.

It is now 5:13 and I am still waiting. Fuck you, asynchronous broadband.

I am quite happy that it is Friday as I am sure lots and lots of people are. Today is day SEVEN of my Weight Watchers adventure.

I have not blogged about this because I believe in things like the universe and energy and all that kind of new age sounding stuff that really isn’t as fruity as it is sometimes made out to be. I really feel there are people out there reading my blog that cheer for my failure no matter what I do. To those people:
“Find something else to do with your time. This is my website and I am not going to be afraid of your toxic, dirty juju any longer. ” This means that I am admitting to being concerned about others opinion of me, aka being an approval seeking attention whore…but I’m doing my best to make some changes here.

For the uninitiated weight watchers gives food a point value. You must keep your daily intake of points close to your target. (My current one is 25/day) I bought 2 books (food companion & dining out companion) and a journal to help me do this. I am not doing meetings; I am Jack’s abhorrence of social situations.

The books are great/horrible all at once. Great because they have a TONTONTON of information in them…horrible because it took me 30 minutes to find the value of 1tsp of Vegenaise.

I love cookies. I am no longer eating cookies. 25 points goes FAST. Lets look at Tuesday:

[breakfast]
Two Lean Pockets (12)
[lunch]
2 slices of Sourdough (4)
1 slice veggie Turkey (1)
2 slices of cheese (4)
1 tsp Vegenaise (1)
[dinner]
1 cup raw zucchini (0)
1 cup raw squash (0)
Mixed Greens (0)
1 whole wheat wrap (1)
Light Caesar dressing (2)

Total: 25 points

Drinking fluids helps to keep me feeling full. The journal helps to keep me honest. My pants fitting better helps to keep me motivated.

Things I am no longer eating because I don’t think they are worth it:

  • Hot/Lean Pockets (6-9 points each)
  • 7 Layer Burrito (Taco Bell) (12 points each)
  • Vegetarian Taco Salad (Taco Bell) (20 points each)
  • Smoothie King (everything=too many points for not enough protein/fiber/full-tummy-feelings)
  • Pizza with cheese (a gazillion points per slice)

Things I have found that I hate:

  • People who think they own something/someone just because they love it/them
  • Not having a computer than can generate food on demand
  • Phone calls
  • Dead batteries
  • Upload speeds
  • Indecisive clouds
  • Fluorescent lighting
  • Sitting here at 6:10 on a Friday

Luckily I can do something about one of those…
